I experienced the magic of Mainspring.

I first came to Mainspring Schools as a foster-adopt parent, in 2014, just before my son turned two, when it was clear that our family needed an innovative, welcoming, and supportive environment. My son had been in Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) therapy since he was a year old. He had 20% delays across multiple developmental categories. But within six months of starting at Mainspring, he had met those 20% delays and leaped ahead another six months. In fact, he made so much progress that ECI ended his services early.

Back then I didn’t know what the Mainspring magic was. Then I saw my son’s language skills explode. I saw him shoveling fistfuls of homemade spinach lasagna into his mouth at lunch – even when he only subsisted on ketchup at home.

In addition, my own experience with the Family Services team helped me face unexpected challenges, navigate the foster system, and grow as a parent.

Today, I’ve been on staff for over 6 years and Executive Director since the end of 2022. And I can clearly connect the Mainspring magic to our model’s Three Pillars:
· High-Quality Early Childhood Education
· Comprehensive Health and Wellness
· Wrap-around Family Services

We are raising $50,000 in our End of Year Giving (EOYG) Campaign, to fuel the magic for our whole community. We even have an anonymous donor matching every dollar we raise up to $30,000 – so your donation will double in impact.

Thank you so much for supporting the magic of Mainspring and ensuring that we can continue to provide our innovative programs to families around Austin.
