“From the minute I walked into the building I could tell this place was different.”

My name is Briona Jenkins and I joined the Mainspring Schools team as their Director of Development in June of this year.

I first learned about Mainspring Schools in 2017 when I was working at the United Way of Greater Austin and had to pick a volunteer day activity so I went to Mainspring Schools with my friend, Mandy. She had worked at Mainspring Schools and told me about all the amazing things they were doing for their students and their families so I hopped at the chance to visit. She wasn’t kidding, from the minute I walked into the building I could tell this place was different.

Flash forward to now, being a part of the team is such an honor to see the direct impact that happens here every single day. Mainspring is truly a magical place where we focus on every child—and every family. Diversity is crucial to developing self-aware, well-rounded children and Mainspring families come from all over Austin and represent different backgrounds, races and ethnicities, and socioeconomic experiences. We always say that our school looks like what our city really looks like and I think that’s what makes us different from other places.

We are now gearing up for End of Year Giving (EOYG). Our EOYG Campaign is focused on raising $50,000 between November 1 and December 31. We are so thrilled that an anonymous donor has agreed to match every dollar we raise up to $30,000. That means when you donate your dollar will do double the work and help us have an even better new year.

When you support Mainspring Schools you ensure that we can continue to provide high-quality early childhood education to our students and their families. We couldn’t do this work without you and cannot thank you enough for your support.
