COVID-19
COVID-19 Policies
The health and safety of our children, families, and teachers is at the heart of all we do at Mainspring Schools—including the adoption of COVID-19 safety policies and protocols.
To keep our children, families, and staff safe, we are:
Increasing sanitation measures, including through monthly treatments from Dis.in.fx
Performing COVID-19 contact screenings for everyone who enters the facility each time they come in (children, parents & caregivers, visitors, and staff)
Increasing hand-washing procedures
Increasing ventilation throughout the facility
All staff wear properly-fitting masks
All staff are required to by fully-vaccinated for COVID-19
Mainspring will follow the recommendations of the CDC and local health authorities when cases are discovered at the facility.
Safety Protocols
(Updated 5/25/2022)
With feedback from health professionals, public health agencies, parents & caregivers, teachers, and community partners, we have established the following updates to our guidelines, which are subject to change:
If a child tests positive for COVID-19, a 10-day isolation period is required before that child can return to school.
If a child tests positive for COVID-19, that child’s classroom will be closed for five calendar days.
If a child has been exposed to COVID-19 but no symptoms develop, that child can return to school after five calendar days.
If a child develops symptoms of COVID-19, that child should be tested for COVID-19 using a rapid antigen test or a PCR test, and a negative test result must be provided to Mainspring before that child can return to school.
Families can choose to do a rapid at-home test, but since at-home tests are not as reliable, Mainspring will require a negative rapid antigen test or a negative PCR test before the child can return to school.
The classrooms of teachers who test positive will not automatically close.
Mainspring will staff the classrooms of teachers who test positive with other teachers/substitutes.
Mainspring will no longer close entire pods unless children were with a child who tested positive.
Mainspring will notify all families when a potential COVID-19 exposure occurs, even if the exposure will not result in a classroom closure.
If a teacher or staff member tests positive, the teacher or staff member will isolate for five calendar days or until symptoms improve.
Teachers or staff who test positive can only return if their symptoms have improved.
If your child begins to develop symptoms, please keep them home and get them tested. We will be on the lookout for symptoms among children at the school and let you know if symptoms arise in your child.
Please email School Director Brendan Wells if you need clarification or have feedback. We want you to be well-informed so you can make the best decisions for your family. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
