Jess Hicks as Assistant Director of Education (Pre K)
We are thrilled that our team members have transitioned into these roles and want to take this time to share a little bit about each of them.
Anisha Wynn; Director of Family Services
Anisha Wynn is a former Austin Community Nursery School student, former Mainspring parent, and now Mainspring grandmother.
Her journey of education and child development started at a young age. Anisha worked as a Program Specialist for the City of Austin and a Center Director for Extend-A-Care for kids for multiple years. Her previous job, before coming to Mainspring, was as a Special Education TA for Austin Independent School District (AISD) for 7 years. Her love for children and helping families is all she knows.
What brought Anisha to Mainspring? Well, she was originally asked to come over and help for the summer. Let's just say when the summer came to an end she wasn't ready to leave. She loved everything Mainspring offered! She loved the community, the staff, but most of all she loved the children. To Anisha, Mainspring isn't just a daycare, we are a unit that works together to take care of our families, not just the child.
Brendan Wells; Director of Operations
Hailing from Denton, TX, and a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, Brendan’s path led him to Mainspring seventeen years ago. Originally joining the staff as a classroom teacher, becoming School Director, and now moving into the role of Director of Operations.
Jaime Rios; Assistant Director of Education (infants and toddlers)
Jaime Rios has taught preschool for about 30 years and has worked at Mainsprings schools for 23 years. She is a mother of three adult children and her youngest attended Mainsprings from the time he was eleven months old until pre-k. Her grandchildren are currently attending. Mainsprings has a special place in her heart and has made a great impact on her family through the years. She loves Mainspring and calls it, home away from home. Throughout her time being here, she has enjoyed being a part of the children's lives and their learning experiences on a daily basis. She has worked with all age groups throughout the years and is excited for her new role as an assistant director education for infants and toddlers where she will get to mentor our teachers. She is a strong believer in learning something new everyday and making a difference in the children's and families’ lives.
Jess Hicks; Assistant Director of Education (Pre-K)
After 10 years of working in early childhood education, Jess can say that Mainspring is a unique and special place. She was drawn to the mission and philosophy of the school, and knew she needed to be a part of. This beautiful community holds space for creativity, play, and connection. Quality care and children’s emotional wellness is at the forefront of this organization. She is thrilled to be an Assistant Director of Education, to support and serve the needs of teachers, children, and their families.
